"With the help from a dedicated technical and training staff and countless hours of quality time invested by the Columbus MLS staff, it was possible to be aggressive with our conversion in December 2001... it occurred overnight from one system to the other on schedule after just three months of contract negotiations, preparation and training (5,600 Realtors) with primary concentration on having only the CORE elements of system functionality initially available, Add/Edit, Searches, CMAs, listing and photo transfer and the necessary programming for our publications etc.... all the typical Realtor requirements for the purchase and sale of real estate in any market. This three-month conversion option was researched and adopted in part due to contract issues from our former vendor which were fair but would have pushed conversion into the highly active real estate months for our market of late spring and early summer, a situation we desperately wanted to avoid if possible.
