Responsibilities

• Provide support for Microsoft Windows NT/2000/2003 and hardware issues to internal and external customers; participate in 24 x 7 on-call pager rotation. This job requires 24 x 7 on call availability.
• Install computer systems including disk drives, memory cards, RAID/SCSI cards, tape drives and other computer hardware.
• Generate and maintain documentation on the administration of the systems at the Vienna Operations Center and Colo as well as other remote locations.
• Provide assistance and backup to the Network Operations Center, Network Engineering and interface with Support and Development to support application.
• Identify basic system performance issues, to include CPU utilization, disk utilization, kernel/registry tuning, and memory requirements.
• Identify and escalate real or potential system security issues.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Knowledge of IBM hardware (X series), Windows NT 4/2000/2003
• Knowledge of MS SQL, IBM Director, McAfee E-Policy a plus; some knowledge of Linux helpful.
• Ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, technical judgment, problem solving, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment essential.
• This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related discipline plus two to five years experience; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
